If you’re having problems turning your iPhone XR on, there are several things you can try. These include reinstalling iOS, entering DFU mode and more.
If your iPhone XR won’t turn on, it may be because of software issues. This is why I recommend reinstalling the latest version of iOS to fix this issue.
Power/Side button
The power button is a physical switch that allows users to turn their electronic devices on and off. It is commonly found on desktop computers, but it can also be used on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
If you are having trouble turning your iPhone xr on and off, or if the power/side button isn’t working at all, there are a few things that you can do to try and fix this issue. The first thing to do is to try and restart your device.
In the Settings app, tap on General settings and scroll down to Shut Down. Once the shutdown process is initiated, you should see a power off slider on your screen that you can swipe from left to right to turn off the device.
Alternatively, you can turn off your iPhone xr by holding down the side and volume buttons simultaneously until the power-off slider appears on the screen. When it does, let go of the buttons and swipe the slider to the right to turn off your phone.
Volume Up button
Even though it’s a physical button, the volume up button on your iPhone isn’t always responsive. It can get stuck or just wear down over time, which is why it’s a good idea to clean it regularly.
There are a few quick fixes that you can try before calling in for professional help, however. For starters, make sure the Change with Buttons setting is enabled (it’s located in the Sounds & Haptics section of Settings). If it’s not, you’ll only be able to adjust your ringer and alert tone volume with the top volume button, which may be a lot quieter than you’d like it to be.
If the volume up button isn’t working, you can also try adjusting the ringer and alert tone volume using the Control Center. This works on all iPhone models, including the XR and XS.
Another reliable alternative is to use the AssistiveTouch option in your iPhone’s Settings. This feature lets you control your phone’s volume using a single tap on the screen or by tapping the virtual button. You can also set it so that two taps will increase your ringer or alert tone volume, while three taps will lower the volume.
To use the AssistiveTouch feature, go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Touch and turn on the switch for AssistiveTouch. Next, go to AssistiveTouch -> Device and set the Volume Up/Down button as your virtual volume button.
Volume Down button
When you’re using an iPhone, the volume down button is essential for adjusting the volume. When it’s not working, you won’t be able to control your music or podcasts.
If you’re having trouble controlling the volume on your iPhone xr, there are a few things that you can try to fix it. First, check if there are any dust or debris in the area around your iPhone’s volume buttons. If there is, you’ll want to clean it up using a cotton bud or microfiber cloth.
Another possibility is that your iPhone’s volume button has become stuck. This can be caused by a number of issues, including a hardware issue or a software bug.
To solve this issue, you can perform a hard reset (also called a force restart) on your phone. Doing so will reload the operating system and help your iPhone restore its functionality.
Alternatively, you can also take your iPhone to an Apple Service Center for professional repair. This is one of the best ways to solve iPhone volume buttons not working issues.
But, keep in mind that it might be a little expensive. This method is only recommended if your device is still under warranty or you’re not confident about fixing it yourself.
If you can’t find any other solutions, you may need to consider getting a new volume control for your iPhone. A new one can cost a pretty penny, but it’s worth the price if you’re having trouble controlling your music or podcasts on your phone.
You can also try to reset your phone’s volume controls by turning them back on manually. To do this, press and hold the power button for a couple of seconds until you see the Apple logo on your screen.
Sleep/Wake button
The iPhone XR is the latest and greatest smartphone Apple has ever produced. It comes with a lot of features, including an edge-to-edge display and TrueDepth camera. But it also has some glaring differences from older iPhone models, including the lack of a Home button.
One of these is the fact that your iPhone XR takes an extra second to go to sleep when you press the Side button on it. This is because the new side button isn’t exactly like the old Sleep/Wake button.
What happens is that your iPhone puts a half-second delay on the sleep timer to prevent you from accidentally pressing the Side button an extra time or two when trying to activate Accessibility Shortcuts, Smart Invert, or even Apple Pay. If your iPhone went to sleep the moment you pressed the Side button, activating all these things would be impossible.
Now, there’s a workaround that fixes this problem: hook up your frozen iPhone XR to your computer with a USB cable and use iTunes or Finder to launch the iOS System Recovery application. Once you do, the software will scan your iPhone for common iOS problems and fix them all.
Once it’s done, the program will show your frozen iPhone XR’s current status and tell you what it can do to fix the issue. If you’re lucky, it will be able to fix the issue so that your phone starts up properly again.
If your iPhone doesn’t turn on after the repair, you can try to re-activate it by restoring it to a backup file. You can do this from your computer or directly from your device.
